I use yacht varnish, brushed on. This is very strong and doesn't discolour.
I normally use satin finish; you can spray with matt varnish to get a matt finish, but the satin finish is not very shiny.

Use Windsor and Newton brush on matt varnish works very well. Even through an airbrush!

Hello

Tried different varnishes.
Finally the Daler Rowney seems to work perfect.
Just wanted to thank everybody!!!!!
