Ibyssian Fishing Boat
« on: November 20, 2008, 12:14:26 PM »
Some of the stuff I have planned for Broadsword Adventures requires that a small boat be available. So, with a little work, I have converted a Shifting Lands small resin boat into my Ibyssian Fishing Vessel. Useful for short coastal runs and smuggling operations.

The resin boat and lantern are from Shifting Lands. The mast is a wooden dowel with ProCreate over it to give it the wood look I wanted as well as what will be a brass cap. The sail was taken from an old and cheap model ship that I got at a yard sale.

The three brass nails will be used to affix the rigging. I'll also probably add some additional details later as well. The GW plastic skeleton was included for size comparison.

This would be a two-man fishing vessel used for coastal waters or river runs. They would be quite common in the canals of Ibyssia.

I like it. The lateen rig sail is one of my favorites and gives a kind of exotic look to your boat, plus that hull is just nice. Looking forward to more pics.

Nice idea!  And nice execution too.  Probably some of the other Shifting Lands ship hulls would look good with lateen rigs.
Sailors have more fun!
