WW2 Normandy Action
« on: 11 February 2016, 12:51:43 PM »
On Monday Nick and I decided to fight out a WW2 Platoon level action using 28mm miniatures and the Combat Patrol rules.

We played a meeting engagment, that saw the Germans making their way through the churchyard towards the town centre and the Americans moving through back yards to take up position on the first floors of houses and shops to put down fire on the enemy.

The Germans took up an excellent position in a church tower that gave them a good field of fire across the town

If any one is going to Hammerhead on Saturday 5th March, Sally 4th will be there with lots of Combat Patrol Decks, Rulebooks and a diplay of our Normandy buildings from our Kickstarter which should go on sale for retail on 1st April.
Do come across and say hello, and ask my wife Ann for a talkthrough of how Combat Patrol works.

Just getting ready for our next game of WW2 Combat Patrol which is going to be the attack of US PIR against defensive positions dug in around the crossroads that came to be known as 'Dead Mans Corner'.

This should be an interesting game and I think that Combat Patrol will really bring out the differences in the two sides. The German defenders have some dug in positions, which give them a big bonus for cover saves but I have rated them as Regulars and armed them with bolt action rifles (although they also have 4 x MG42). The US PIR are rated as Elite so they will be fast and deadly and they are equiped with M1 Rifle & BAR which gives them a good rate of fire.

Detailed after action report to follow, next week!
