I have to admit that the creative process for this miniature was a bit different compared to most others that I have shown so far. For Yevdokiya I did not start by deciding it would be her that we'll try to impersonate, but I found a picture with almost exactly this pose that I really liked. I think it was more of a cosplayer pic of and not even a proper re-enactment picture. But as I said, I really liked the dynamic pose. So after I had asked the sculptor to get started on this particular pose, I started looking for a heroine. When I came across Yevdokiya, I thought that she fits the model quite nicely, but the result is, of course, not really historically accurate as the reference picture certainly was not.
