Great painting - I too have these figures but your painting raises it to another level well done.

I have heard many many reports of how bad BTD sculpts are but I have 100+ Soviets and 100+ Germans from them and they are some of the bast sculpts I have come across certainly better than some Warlord and Artizan ones for detail and crispness.
my mates US Infantry force is 90% BTD and they are great too.

Maybe it is only the Brits and Eyties?
I have some of their Brit Paras and some are good and some have slightly strange poses and arm/leg sculpting

Yeah, I have a number of the BTD Germans too and they're nice figures.

Nick Collier sculpted the WW2 US, Russians and Germans for Harlequin, that later became Black Tree Design, circa 1995.
The Afrika Korps, SS, and British were done by another sculptor.

Some 15 years ago I ordered some BTD US Airborne and Germans (Band of Brothers :D) and was dissapointed about the difference between them so sold them 5 years later.

With the release of Bolt Action I tried again with BTD US and Germans and are very pleased with them (from both I have a 1250 pts army). So I think the US Airborne are also from a different sculpter.

That sounds plausible as when I added some BTD support to my Artizan US airborne they stick out like a sore thumb in terms of figure aesthetics, while I mix the BTD with my Crusader and Artizan Germans with no such issues.

Right so both Airborne ranges seem to be different sculptor to the footsloggers?

What about the German FJ?

Awesome work! I have a Soviet SMG platoon for Chain of Command from ....apart from the command and 50mm mortar (Warlord) and Sniper (Bad Squiddo) the majority are BTD and are good solid sculpts
Now listen to me you benighted muckers. We're going to teach you soldiering. The world's noblest profession. When we're done with you, you'll be able to slaughter your enemies like civilized men.
