Really? I prefer the black edge, looks smart and makes the mini stand out as a playing piece... (but then again, personal preference differs for all...)

I agree it makes display pieces look better,  but I find it obtrusive on the table. For me the figure's base is a necessary evil. You have to have it, but the figure looks best if the base is as camouflaged as possible.

But, as you say, we all have our own preferences and having the choice to do as we wish can only be a good thing  :)

I prefer slottas, perhaps because I started with GW figures and stayed with them a long time. I find integrals awkward, and usually remove them and base them on slottas, at least until now, as I'm collecting forces for Sharp Practice and couldn't face reomving 30 integrals from my 95th rifles, 3 boxes of French Naps, two boxes of British etc. I'm using the 20mm square Renedra bases.
