El Fino the Skinny Bandit & Marshal Beacon
« on: 30 July 2009, 09:55:49 PM »
I haven't done anything Old West for ages, being heavily side-tracked by all things VSF. Playing "Call of Juarez BiB" on the Xbox has got my interest up again. Besides, I can use them in Weird West games....

Here's El Fino my rather under-weight bandito  :D

and his arch enemy Marshal John Beacon:

They are both BlackScorpion minis and were a joy to paint.

Oh wow!
Marshall John looks very much like the character that John Cleese played in Silverado.
Very nice.

Looking good! Buono, bruto, and fino - the good, the bad, and the...thin? Very nice!
The Marshal is looking good too. Any more Old West on the painting horizon?

Very nice work...second figure also reminds me of John Cleese's character in Silverado. Well done sir. Thanks for sharing.

"Today, my jurisdiction ends here!"

Finally! I've found my Turley town marshal! I have figures to represent all the other characters from Silverado but never could find a good one to represent Cleese. Thanks for the photo!

Thanks for the comments!

I haven't actually seen Silverado but I've put in on my list of "to watch" DVDs.

Just a quick pic of an Apache brave I painted yesterday.

I'm reasonably pleased but I think the skin could have been a little darker.

Cheers

Silverado is a lot of fun. It is a cliched western but very faithful to its influences.

Incidentally, if you buy a copy of Silverado, avoid the "Special Editon" in the fancy box. The only feature it includes that differs from the standard editon is a  rather flimsy "History of the Western" narrated by John Cleese which, in reality, is just an  advertisment for the company's other westerns.
