28mm SYW Portuguese at Fontenoy
« on: 15 September 2020, 12:31:49 AM »

Just back from another nights gaming and the first of the photos. 28mm SYW using the Maurice rules with a Portuguese and Hessian force fighting the French at Fontenoy. After the French lights feeling out the Allied right while the artillery of the Portuguese brought destruction to the central village allowed the general advance of the allied forces taking the central village and destroying the French infantry and artillery. After that attack the counter attack of the French guards did not drive the Portuguese back and the French cavalry covered the withdrawal of what remained of the French forces with the allies having lost a single regiment but worn down from the dash forwards to attempt to attack the final positions. A very good and enjoyable game and one to look forward to again soon.
