Terry Dactil - My brushholder

Got a pack of dinosaurs ages ago and whilst the others were great poor Terry was a bit crap with wobbly legs and floppy wings hinged with screws.

Introduced him to some superglue to hold his flaccid limbs in place, and he's now ready to hold my brushes whilst I'm painting rather than them rolling off the table - one under his chin, one in his mouth and one in his hands.

  That's brilliant!

Do you have to slide the brushes in and out (no innuendo intended, of course  ), or are they easy to grab when needed?

I was introduced to the concept of brush holders when I received one free with my order of Hobbyzone modules. It's a simple MDF affair, holding two brushes, but I've started using it nonetheless. It still requires some discipline to always put the brush back on the stand, when not using it, but considering I only started using it a few weeks ago, I'd say I'm improving

At first I was puzzled by it though, as I thought it was for putting down loaded brushes, but I rarely, if ever, do that, and then only in emergencies. And then I put the ferrule on the edge of my palette (which is an old plate) in the unlikely case of dripping/spilling.

But it's nice to know where my brushes are all the time now, even though I used to always put them in the same spot on my desk anyway (right along the left side of my cutting mat (I'm a leftie )). It does help reducing the amount of brushes on my desk though, as I tended to put an entire range there, as I used them during a project.

So in all, it helps keeping a tidier desk. Which is nice...

The one under his chin has to be slid in!!!!

The others can just be placed from the front.

Not for loaded brushes but if I use a couple of different sizes while painting I can just rinse and pop on Terry while I continue with the other one.

Whenever I put them on the desk I end up knocking them off and ruining the tips.
