I know what you mean GM. I've had a few over the years with the bloodlust.  lol

Best suggestion, give them something to shoot at other than each other.

Um, dumb question here, but are those prefabricated buildings or did you make them?  Never played a pulp-type game before, so please forgive my ignorance.   8)

No ignorance at all Bulldog. The buildings are a combination of Miniature Building Authority buildings and Brigade Games Spanish buildings. I'd love to have the time to build all my own stuff (I used to once before I started a game company) but things like paperwork now get in the way of the fun stuff. So, I have to go with buying some of my terrain.

Goes to show that even if you buy the buildings, it's how you use them. This game shows a lot of creativity. Brilliant!

Most excellent Operator5.  I will definitely check into these companies.  I totally plan on borrowing your town set up for a small Mordheim-esque ("Mordheim-esque?"  Is that even a word?) game.  :D

Hello Operator5 I happen to be a lurker (stalker?) on the NJ games yahoo group you announced this game on. I dearly wanted to attend, but sadly I had to work. Seeing these lovely pictures is a bit like having read hot pokers thrust through my limbs. But I digress, did you use interior boards/maps for play inside the buildings? How many levels did each faction play with? Will you run another game in the metro area in the near future?

I need more stalkers. :)

The buildings all opened up so players could go through them at will. No need for interior maps (though I do need to get some interior bits to spruce them up a bit.

Each faction had a total of 4 Grade 3 models (there were only two teams and they all ran with a Grade 3). I knew that on a 2x2 board with 8 people, any more than that would be too cramped.

September, I will again be running a game in Maplewood. Not sure what yet, but I'll figure that out soon. If you are in the metro area, you might want to check out the Dice Dogs forum. http://www.dicedogs.com That is the group that I am starting to run games for.

That's a lot of high level characters.
When each player is running just one, not really. I'm good handling multiple villains for them. And when they are shooting each other up, those high levels start going down quickly.

Well I’ll just continue then.

So you give the players a RPG style experience. How do you work that out in campaigns?

How do you work that out in campaigns?

We have a campaign system in the Gargoyle: Death Soldiers of the Jade Hood book. But I like to award points based on how the players stay in character along with it. So for example, in this game, one of the players was the Sikh bruiser. He was muscle and he acted like it. He never worried about clues and such. His job was to get in and rough people up. That is what he did. The brains of the group, avoided as much combat as he could and just kept trying to reach the goal of the scenario. He ducked in buildings, locked doors, anything to give his less combat-oriented model a chance to get away. He used his brains to good effect. Both those players would have been awarded extra points for staying in character.

Now, if a player had taken a Flaw and truly played it up, I may have awarded additional points.

From what I have witnessed, the players who have the most fun and infect the other players with the fun, are those who play up their unique character.

I don't happen to have this book (didn't know I would need it) so what are these points you are awarding? What are they used for?

Points are used to add new abilities or as extra Hero Points or to replace lost Grade 1 members of your team.
