Early Imperial Romans - capsarii
« on: 20 May 2021, 01:55:52 PM »
Way back last year I posted a thread on my 28mm Early Imperial Roman Legion
https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=121726.msg1607492#msg1607492

I have now returned and amongst other projects I have added the start of the medical service - 3 Capsarii.  These legionaries got their name from the Capsa (tubes) that contained bandages.  As Immunes they are trained Legionaries who have had some medical training.

The figures are conversions of surplus Warlord Legionaries with bits fro various sets - WW2 Russian pack, WW2 German water bottles (painted to be ceramic or metal), bread bags and gas mask cases (the capsa).  I tried to give one some hair loss from wearing his helmet!.

Later I'll add the Medicus (Medical Officer), maybe some slaves/freedmen and some sort of ambulance or animal for evacuation of battlefield casualties.

A great idea, and nice conversions. Thanks for sharing them!
