Making the most of a Stargrave figure spure - All painted now!

I shared a box of Stargrave crewmen from the recent Nickstarter with some friends.

Like with most multi part kits, I had great fun putting together some figures. With a sprue, you get five bodies, an assortment of arms, a variety of heads and various equipment to kit them out. This was my result.



However, you do have a lot of unused plastic leftover. Not wanting to throw it out and not wishing to having it lying around in my bits box, I went back to Anvil Industries for some bodies.
First up, I ordered some 'jumpsuit' bodies and added various arms, heads and kit to them.



Secondly, I ordered some separate legs and torsos and used the remainder of the Stargrave sprue to add some details.



So, a five figure sprue has ultimately yielded fifteen figures in total and almost used up all the remaining sprue pieces.

Now to paint them!

I haven't tried them yet but the Stargrave plastics are probably also compatible with most of the Frostgrave ones.  They certainly work for giving the gnoll kit guns, there are shots of that combo in the book, and I imagine the arms would fit one any of the bodies with clothed torsos - so basically everything but the Ghost Archipelago Tribals and Snakemen, and you could probably do some weapon/hand swaps even on those.

And that's not even considering the Oathmark and Killing Fields figs.

Of course, then you wind up with even more spares left over.

I will put in a pitch for Mad Robot Minis too. I don't see too much about his work around here, but I believe that they would be a good fit as well. He has a nice assortment of bits for kitbashing. U.S. company, which helps a lot with smaller orders and shipping for those of us who don't live in the hobby breadbasket.

Finally got my fifteen figures all painted.

First up, figures made with 100% Stargrave parts.



The next two pictures show the ten figures I put together using Anvil Industries bodies and the remainder of the Stargrave sprue.




Now if it would stop raining, so that I can give them a spray of anti shine varnish...

Good question indeed.  Sadly I traded off my last few about three years back.  Maybe someone else has a few left to experiment with?
