MY NEW SCI FI/DARK FUTURE LEADS

SORRY no photos grom me, but, here is what i think of the new tpys i bought this month.

TODAY, i am going to finally get to work on my new PA leads from BLACK SCORPION and BRONZE AGE MINIATURES.


first let me say these are all_big leads_ (around 30mm-32mm tall from foot to noggin) and that the photos on the websites do not do them justice! mine are just primed so far, but the detail on the toys is really supernice.

ALFONSO, LA CHICA DULCE, and JOSIE all come with 30mm recessed top, round plastic slotta bases, but i tossed the big bases into my bases box and used the smaller 25mm round plastic slotta bases made by GW and others.


all i had to do was make up some expoxy ribbon then mount them on the slotta bases, before priming. no other assembly or cleaning up required. OOPS, i forgot, JOSIE comes with a seperate skate board that went into my bits box.

all of these are very nice, character filled and posed miniatures, and even with my modest painting skills are going to be a joy to paint!


ALFONSO is a tall, (at least 6'2") manly man, wearing either a civvie vest or a light flak jacket, well armed and smoking a huge stogie. i can see this figure being useful in the role of bounty hunter, hired gun for whoever has the cash be it traders, business establishments in settlements, or someone else.


JOSIE is about 5'6" (in scale) when compared to him, and is a rather ill prepared survivor: an pair of autopistols, no holsters, or reloads, with a teddy bear backpack slung on her back, wearing a one piece dress, no armor. to me JOSIE fits the role of dazed survivor, able and willing to shoot, but probably not very good with her pistols.


 and now i come to LA CHICKA DULCE! this babe o doubt has a colorful past involving inner city gangs, long, computer printed out rap sheets, and pre-apocalytic PD vice squads! this miniature makes me think of a 6'2" or taller, AMAZONIAN version of MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ. stylishly clad from head to foot, LCD, has lots of exposed skin and kevlar hair that reaches to her waist. a belt around said waist supports a _big_ knife, and she has a pair of either MAC-10 machinepistols or UZI SMGS to help her during in interpersonal disputes with anyone. this woman is a survivor, and no doubt (in my mind) an equal opportunity killer.


BLACK SCORPION has now become one of my miniatures bookmarks with ***** after the name.


BRONZE AGE MINIATURES! i found these by pure accident while doing some www "wastelands patrolling" for replacement PA folks. never heard of the company before, but i can assure you it is now one of my miniatures bookmarks with ***** after it!


i bought four minis from DAVID, the nice guy owner/sculptor of BRONZE AGE MINIATURES,

SCIFI ADV PACK32adv-s-4 (4 leads) and SCIFI-F-TRP (1 lead). he tossed in some extra guns for use in converting, as well as the ganger gal that serves as the entry photo to his sci fi catalogue.


my first package of BRONZE AGE MINIS was eaten by the USPS between DAVID's mailbox and mine, so DAVID cheerfully replaced them at no cost to me.

all of the BAM leads have integral bases, but, i plan on mounting them on 25mm round plastic slotta bases as this is how i compensate for the differing size of miniatures from various makers that i have in my toy collection.

again these figures are supernice looking with lots of detailing, come in useful poses, and require no assembly before you can prime and paint them. just stick them on a slotta base and let the party begin!


GANGER WOMAN (the lead shown as the entry to the scifi catalog) is a tall (but not as tal as LCD!), slender built woman with a "punkish doo" that hangs to her shoulders in the back and on the left side. the right side of her noggin has been shaved. she is wearing shades, a tank top, tight pants, knee length boots with metal bits, and a gunbelt with holstered pistol, spare magazines around her waist. the gun belt is supported by a lightweight harness which also has some pouches and an unside down, sheathed combat knife attached. she is in a nonchalant, standing and observing pose.
obviously a ganger, a townie, or even a crew member off a free trader or possibly a corsair somewhere OUT THERE in the black. i like this one a lot.


ARMED AND DANGEROUS WOMAN. this miniature is supernice, well posed, armed with a pair of autopistols that she is shooting in two different directions at the same time. too me she screams KATE BECKINSALE in her hide tight leather body suit, boots and overcoat. at least one thigh clearly shows an empty pistol holster. she could be painted up with lots of exposed skin but i am going with the black leather bodysuit look. she is not as tall or AMAZONIAN build as LCD above, but, she is right up there with not MILLA JOVAVITCH's ALICE! again, i see this one as a gun for hire, a bounty hunter, a survivor, ganger, townie or even a starship crewmember. great figure (just like KATE'S!).


FUTURE CITY PD/SHIP/STATION SECURITY OFFICER. this gal is small and very petite, wearing a skin tight uniform, gunbelt w/o holster, shoulder pads, knee guards, and tall boots. shoulder length hair, and is advancing_cautiously_ with her big assed pistol at the ready. deffo this is a not JUDGE HERSHEY clone! again i lie her very much.


BAD DEWD. this is one big dewd with cantilever shoulders, bulging muscles, narrow waist and shoulder length, futuristic styled, kevlar doo and a "good guy" looking face. he is wearing a T-shirt, left side shoulder holster rig, waist belt and low riding, long legged shorts with bulging cargo pockets and unlaced/unsnapped brogans. he also has hand and a half, doubled edge, sword, sheath across his back with the hilt clearly visible over his right shoulder. he is standing tall with his right arm fully extended and aiming a big assed pistol as if he was on the firing line at the PD ACADEMY.
if ALFONSO is an anti-hero, this guys is most deffo a hero , IMHO. survivor, wandering wastelander, gun for hire, deputized posseman, starship/spaceship crewmember typical of the colorful types of individual found on DAWGIE' own MAN OF LA MANCHA or serving with TIGHT PANTS NANCE going about daily business among the worlds of THE EDGE. . .


FEMALE SCI FI TROOPER. this is a tall, slender, unarmored, woman with the right side of her head shave and shoulder length hair in back and on the left side. very similiar to the WOMAN GANGER mention at the start of the BAM listing above. she is wearing a halter top with lots of exposed cleavage, tight fitting pants with bulging caro pockets, low riding waist belt with pouches, knee guards and knee length boots. she has a light weight backpack on her back, and is holding a magazine fed, telescopic sight fitted, air cooled assault rifle . too me, she is too slender around her waist line and deffo top heavy! that said, she is in a useful pose, standing with the butt of the assault rifle resting on her right hip, muzzle pointed up and slightly forward. she will work as a gun for hire, ganger, survivor, townie, or crewmember off free trader or corsair.


EXTRA GUNS. DAVID sent me a small selecton of firearms as a freebie. two distinct styles of assault rifles that are in scale with the miniatures, not oversized like the humongous BFD 5000s we have all become accomstomed to over the years. these are nicely detailed weapons., and should also work well with FOUNDRY STREET VIOLENCE minis.


the minis i have seen thus far from both makers are taller than COPPLESTONE, VOID, RAL PARTHA but are well proportioned and when mixed with these other toys should just look like taller than average individual.
