Palm Tree
« on: 28 June 2022, 01:32:26 PM »

Hello.

I just finished painting this scratch-built palm tree.

The materials I used to make it are wire, milliput and green stuff for the trunk and construction paper for the leaves.

Cheers,
Karl

That looks quite good! How long does it take to build one?

The detail in that trunk looks amazing. I am also curious how long it took...

Nice! I am interested on how you got the texture on the trunk.
Got to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight.

Beautiful work.  Don't forget the dead palm fronds on ground

Thanks for your comments!

I started to make this tree some years ago, but didn't find much time to work on it.
This year I decided to finish all projects I had lying around and finally finished this palm tree.
So I lost track of how long it took me to make it.

Also, I don't have that much experience sculpting with green stuff and painting models. It took me a long time to sculpt the trunk and to paint the highlights, but I enjoyed this a lot. I used the project to get better at sculpting and painting ...

Cheers,
Karl

The texture on the trunk was sculpted with green stuff.
