The real world parallel to the ‘ neff cradle  would be beaching gear for a seaplane , very clever engineering, I love it when fantasy collides with the real world.

Some of the structures I’ve got are on the large side but I’m trying to keep them ‘real’ to make it ‘believable’ as possible
