Peninsular War Wargame Campaign - The Set Up
« on: 16 July 2023, 05:12:27 PM »
Hi guys,

I've just about finished my Spanish army, and with well over 2,600 men for the whole Peninsular War collection painted and ready for action, I thought it was about time I did something special with them.

Consequently, I've set up a four player (umpireless) Peninsular War Wargames Campaign.

Some notes on the set up can be found here. Also the link to where the map can be found.

As usual, as soon as it's had a few turns played through to iron out the bugs, I'll make the rules, cards and everything else I've written for the campaign available on request.

Looks and sounds tasty.
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

What rules are you using for the Battle resolution?

A home grown version of Piquet. Changed for big battles (20+ units a side) on a fairly big table (12x6).

I wouldn't say they are truly historical but, that's because we like a good close game over a truly historically accurate representation. Tactics still count, but British lines don't always stop French columns, if you get my drift. :o

If British lines always stopped French columns, who would want to be French (that might be a moot point lol), and would they ever attack if they did.

I am seriously borrowing your campaign for my own use! Thanks for making it available!  If you are ever in New Orleans or Margate, look me up for a pint or two on me for compensation!
