A short series of campaign activations (three cards turned) and the action returns to the Pyrenees where MacDonald, following up after the inconclusive action at Vich, attacks O'Donnell at Manresa.

The Battle of Manresa. Sometimes games are just brilliant: We could have played this one with wooden blocks and had fun. Of course we didn't, which just made it even better.

The Battle of Manresa is over; what a bloodbath and a memorable one. Wellington attends balls and French spies report the Spanish are not happy. Seaside bathing is the order of the day in Galiza. Beresford has a rush of blood and attacks Badajoz and everyone is stunned. It's all going on....

I recommend everyone to check out James’s blog. The work that he’s put into this campaign is amazing, the OOB’s alone must have taken a lot of work . I’m currently trying to play solo on a 36’”x 30” hand coloured map.

I agree it's pretty awe-inspiring. His Generals are having lots of fun thanks to his hard work and preparation!
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

The first game shows that the Campaign is working, you’d never get that result from a casual game . The Assault on Terragona is promising to be a corker . The fortifications look formidable and give the defending Spanish a realistic chance of prevailing against the marauding French . I think you can allow yourself a pat on the back , James , all your hard work is coming to fruition. 👍

I’m following the campaign with great interest. Your blog is always a great read with its photos and battle reports. This next battle will be decisive. If Wellington loses then I expect Madrid will change hands , again.
