Midgard Heroic Battles: Late Romans v Saxons

I had a cracking game of Midgard with author James Morris. We were playtesting some forthcoming campaign rules which resulted in Artos and his Late Roman followers confronting Aelle and his rampaging Saxon forces across a valley somewhere in the south west.

The battle began with a challenge of champions, that went the way of the Saxons.



Wisely the Britons refused to surrender the heights to the invaders


The barbarian tribes attacked, undaunted


But Artos led the counterattack
