What a Tanker! Devon Wargames Group final game for 2024
« on: December 15, 2024, 05:15:40 PM »
The Devon Wargames Group ended the club's wargaming year this weekend with a multi-table 'What a Tanker' big club game bringing everyone who attended together to play in a three round, all day setup, on four different tables, with teams of players rotating between them.

Much fun was had by all with festive snacks to add to the merriment and a good set of rules to facilitate our play.

If you would like to know more then just follow the link to the club blog.

That looked like ti would have been fun to play.  Y'all have some very nice looking tanks there.  I speak with some authority ( 8)), as I was an M1 tank Armor/Cavalry Officer in the US Army in my younger days, some of which was in the FRG in the mid-80s.  Sounds like that chap that was in the RTR and I would have had some interesting conversation...

In any event, well done!

Hi and thank you for your comment.

Yes indeed we had a whale of a time finishing off our wargaming year and the club really pulled together in terms of making available all the models and terrain, and we are blessed in the club with some talented folks that mean our games tend to be very easy on the eye.

Being a ‘Tankie’ is quite a unique experience and I know that from personal experience with my Dad serving through Normandy to Germany as a Sherman OP with Guards Armoured Division, and Paul has lots of tales from his time in Challengers.

Thanks again and Happy Xmas
JJ
