Muskets & Tomahawks Big-game - Devon Wargames Group
« on: December 10, 2017, 02:18:11 PM »
The annual "one game to rule them all" took place this weekend at the December meeting of the DWG with a rather large Muskets & Tomahawks game loosely based on the Battle of Oriskany.

Much fun was had by all with lots of toys on the table coupled with good banter and lots of laughs.

If you would like to see more pictures and a summary of our day then just follow the link to the club blog.

Looks like a great game. We like M&T just fine.

Minor nit-pick: not a regular to be seen on either side at Oriskany, unless you consider Butler's Rangers regulars.

Also, player who is General Herkimer should speak half-German patois like: der hund jumpen over den fence. Great opportunity for lousy movie accents.

And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Looks to have been a fun game.
Tons of figures, even more players.
A tip of the hat to the game masters,
they probably had their hands full.
Well done.

Thanks for your comments chaps.
Re regulars at Oriskany, I would stress my introduction "loosely based on Oriskaney" in fact the similarity probably ended with an ambush on a narrow road, although the outcome was also pretty close.
Cheers
