lol Not to mention the funhouse mirror too!  lol

That's just a prop to dismiss any negative reponse to the question 'Does my arse look big in this?'

That peasant is the best proportioned of all the figures in the photo - including the Perry one, which has slightly foreshortened lower legs. If its lower legs were the right length it would be about the same height as the peasant. Oddly, the WA knight is proportioned more like the Perry figure than the WA peasant.

Thanks for the pic RedRowan. Don't suppose you have any Oathmark minis you could snap them alongside?

I've never noticed it before but the proportions on the Northerner are a bit off.

Apologies again for the quality, light really is rubbish this morning.

Also, I think my phone is doing something to the perspective in these shots. The WA Archer and Northman in the first shot are actually facing forwards when I set them up so the phone is distorting the image a little. Those Northmen are quite nice figures in the flesh.

I have a bad case of prescient nostalgia. The future's not what it used to be.

Got the box I ordered a few days ago. It's a very useful set from WA since the "unwashed masses" don't get the focus they deserve. I'd say they are better than the Fireforge equivalent (albeit that was for a fantasy setting). I mainly bought them to use as levy spearmen.

My minor complaints are that the some of the arms are too narrow where they join the torso. That leaves a small flat area around the shoulder that I've had to resculpt with greenstuff. Frankly, I've had issues with WA shoulders before (Late Roman/Goth/Dark Age Irish), so perhaps it's just me. WA also seem to be moving back toward having thick spears. I don't really like them carrying logs into battle.

So I've switched out some of the spear arms for Victrix Early Saxons (spears now thicker vs. early Victrix ones but not WA logs). They seem to kitbash well enough with Victrix heads and the new Oathmark Human Light Infantry/Militia which seem to have improved production quality vs. earlier Oathmark sets.
