Absolutely stunning table setup and I really like the photos of the work in progress. The Eureka 18mm range are some absolutely lovely figures, I purchased a few before going with 10mm.

I plan to follow your work as inspiration for my own languishing Crimean War project.

Thank you everyone. I am very pleased with the way the panels have turned out.

The Trumpeter's convention was this past weekend; our game slotted for Friday evening.

We had 3 British players:

And two Russian:

Great stuff!
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

That looks spectacular! When I lived in Vancouver (the 🇨🇦 one), there’s a whole neighbourhood named after battles! Alma is one of them. It was fun trivia that mrstarkel did NOT appreciate as I would regale her with the battles and what they meant. She did NOT care  lol

Nice set of photos there. It looks like it was a fun game for the players.

As far as I could tell it was. Nate (who ran the game) told the Russian players that they had to approach the game with a 'sense of humour'. :D The Russians, although in a good position defensively, were not prepared to face an Allied offensive so were a bit fragile in the morale department. The two that handled the Russian forces were veteran gamers and knew what they were up against.

Same deal with where I used to live in East St Kilda. Half the streets were named after Crimean battles or generals. By curious dint of history the adjoining neighbourhood became the centre of the Russian Jweish community. So you could can pirozhki right near Balaclava Road. My office is actually located on the corner of Cardigan Street, in another neighbourhood. It;s the outlier there as most of the rest are named after 19thC British politicians.

Very nice work on the terrain. Of course anything to do with the Alma is good for the soul.  ;)

Nate (who ran the game) told the Russian players that they had to approach the game with a 'sense of humour'.

Did he supply them with contemporary examples of "Russian humour" or were they left to find that out for themselves, as well?
