The Long Tomb of Doom...
« on: 13 December 2009, 03:10:13 AM »
Day one of preparing the 2nd Chapter to my 2010 Cold Wars Where Heroes Dare! game table.  Setting is a long forgotten section of The Great Wall of China that is hiding the entrance to the nefarious Kong Fang's lair...

Hey Doc;
Looking good. I will be interested to know more on your techniques for construction, especially painting the foam so that if it gets bumped, you don`t have to re-paint. Do you treat it first, stuff like that...so please keep posting your updates. Thanks in advance.

Looking good - can't wait to see it finished.  Could you let me know what foam you use?
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

Thanks guys,

  I will add more as we go forward, just like the Delphi articles.  The foam is high density blue foam from the local hard ware store.  The white foam is the softer less dense foam from the same place.  In gluing, I use toothpicks to help reinforce the connections like nails.  I have a small hammer that I use to drive them in with.  The whole table will break down into about 7 pieces: 4 surface pieces and 3 wall pieces.

More to come!

As always, I'm mostly jealous that I don't get to game there myself. Keep the pics coming!

i love the table and the scenery. Apart from the great workmanship your choice of color makes it come very much alive.
