Scenes of Horror
« on: July 04, 2010, 03:40:04 AM »
I have started making some Scenes of Horror for Strange Aeons, and this is the first one finished:

It is an actual rock I found on the side of the road, so I have stuck it onto an old CD.

It mightn't look too horrific, but it has a blasphemous shape to it, and it has absorbed so much energy from cultists over the centuries that it causes fear in those that come near it.

I was hoping to make some flaming torches on poles to go around the stone, but that is a work in progress.

I also have some other Scenes on Horror on the go, but that requires some figures to arrive in the mail.

On another note - if anyone has a Scene of Horror they would like to share, please post it in this thread  :D

Sweet (hem, maybe not the right word)!
One I did a few years ago. It could use a repaint, but then, I have so many figures screaming for a paintjob that I do not care about repaints.

wow  - those are both great!

I recognise the figures in the second one, but where did the big nasty come from in the first one?

Nice, all around. Especially impressed by the horror made by colorcrayouns and would also like to know the origin of the mouthpiece!!

I have been pondering about 'scenes of horror' for a while, too, but haven't gotten around to doing any.

The monolith/obelisk, of course, is an obvous one, and can also be used in 'The Devil's Hopyard' (which we played Saturday with a very narrow win for the Lurkers (boo, boo, hiss, hiss!!), but with Treshold actually preventing anything being summoned (a moral victory, despite one brand new agent being killed, and another - the last man standing, and being downed by the last remaining fishman - very appropriately now suffering from teratophobia).

I have the following in mind:

  • A ruined house (actually only the remnants of a couple of walls) with some gore on the walls, in the form of some runes and smears, and a couple of disfigured corpses on the floor/ground
  • A cannibal campfire with lots of human skulls and other bones (like in Robinson Crusoe)
  • A site with impaled corpses, in different states of decomposition, to show this was not a one-time event...
Am looking forward to see more examples/suggestions here  :)
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
