Chaos in Cairo...where for sale?
« on: 03 August 2010, 01:49:20 PM »
I looked around on the web and only found a printed version of the new Chaos in Cairo rules on the Blue Moon Manufacturing website. The book is $25...good value for a rules book IMO. So I clicked "add to cart"...entered all my information...went to the Order Summary and the store said shipping would be $46... :o :o :o

Holy superexpensive shipping Batman! That's way too much and totally unrealistic (I've had books shipped to Holland for $5 from the States). So no order from Blue Moon by me.

Anybody know a webstore with normal shipping prices for the printed product?

Old Glory's website software is rather crude when it comes to shipping. I believe I have seen them say it only handles one flat rate. If you email them I know there are other shipping options they will discuss with you. I don't know if Minitaciturm (sorry, I might have gotten that name wrong) in Germany or Old Glory UK are stocking the rules or not.

I know Old Glory UK brings stuff home on demand, if it is available from the American Old Glory og Blue Moon.

How that would work for postage I am not sure, but can't be $46.

They have a printed version for sale?  I snagged the PDF when it first came out and just printed a few copies.  Would like a professionally printed copy of the rules, but not for $46.   :o

I agree that postage is outrageous

same thing happened to me, for the price of the shipping i got the pdf of cairo and carpathia nicely color printed and spiral bound in a local store.
IMO offset printed stuff always looks much better, but this way I included on the printed rulebook the Tom Weiss  Carpathia house rules.

Hello,
I've lurked here for awhile and have always enjoyed seeing everyone's additions to the hobby, especially all the pulp and interwar miniatures pics (I'll eventually get around to posting some from my own collection).

Just wanted to let people know I ran into the same problem with the Old Glory website S&H price, but after emailing them directly I was able to have them simply send me a Paypal request for the CiC rulebook with the exact S&H cost to my address ($9 instead of $46).  Customer service was very helpful and got me to me within a day.

I thought about getting the PDF version but I prefer hardcopy, looks better in the gaming library.

Anyway, just FYI for those wanting the new edition rules.

Cheers.
