MERCs USCR Suppression Team
« on: March 01, 2011, 05:22:52 PM »
The USCR is done! Unlike my CCC I didn't paint the models individually, settling instead for squad-painting them all at once.

My home-made bases were augmented with some army-painter grass tufts.

They were fun and quick to paint up. I may go back later and add some battle damage or other details, but they're ready to play with.

Team shot of the 5 man Suppression Squad.

The Commissar with his Ice Grenade pistol.

The Behemoth.

Sniper with his Javelin Launcher.

USCR Medic

USCR Monkeywrench

So there's the team finished. That means my CCC and USCR teams are done. I'm thinking FCC will be next, as the other local MERCs player has settled on Kemvar, so I'll likley do them last.

Thanks!

That's a great eye catching color scheme!

Wonderfully painted.

How do those MERC figs size up with something like Hasslefree?

These lads are way big. They're 30mm, the USCR a bit bigger, so they would be beefy in comparison.

The first released set were actually very slight, I had the heavy weapons guy, nice casting just smaller than expected. These soviets are BIG! Nice scheme though, same mini for the medic and ground pounder though?

Yeah, the USCR got shorted in the first run with an assault trooper model that had no variation (the other factions ATs could make variations with the provided bits). The Booster and medic figs should be available soon, at which point I'll be retiring my first medic.

Thanks for all the kind words!

How did you paint the white so nicely? The technique is superb.

Its a base of Citadel Astronomicon grey, highlighted with old Elf Grey and then white. Lots of thinning of the paint to make it go on smooth. :)
