Button counter alert:

This is a nice vignette, but the uniform is all wrong for a general.  The painting on your blog is a slightly later one than the Nap Wars, the lace would have been different and the coat he wears would have had longer tails.  A general would not have worn an infantry shako, the gorget or the short coatee.
'So do all who see such times. But that is not for us to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that we are given.'

Well thank you anyway!

Do you have any good advise on sites or books with information regarding the uniforms of brigade grade and above officers for at least the British and French. That is where I often find myself lost for resources!

Osprey do books on Wellington's and Napoleon's Commanders.

Both British and French generals had a standard uniform, but many concocted their own uniforms, especially gaudy Cavalry Generals, and some wore very plain uniforms, like Wellington.

Effectively British generals wore cocked hats and a red long-tail length coatee faced blue  with gold lace in chevrons on the cuffs, and gold bars of lace on the collar and front, no epaulettes.  The undress version had no gold lace but gold epaulettes, several generals wore only a plain or black laced blue jacket, as you see Wellington at Waterloo.

What you have painted is a very neat Infantry colonel, who could have commanded a brigade, just change the collar and cuff lace.

So the button counters are of course correct in their findings , but as far as this figure/vignette goes well done, it gave me some ideas to use dogs on command vignettes.

Great looking figures.
Looks like they could be in Spain.
Going hunting, hunting for French that is. ;)
