Doctor Who Inspired Green Stuff Sculpt
« on: September 21, 2012, 02:43:12 PM »
Hi,
I have recently sculpted an 28mm miniature, loosely based on the version of the doctor when he is very old, as seen in Last of the Time Lords of the 2007 series. Here it is:

I was just wondering, should I get it cast? I quite like the figure, but maybe I'm a little biased, as I've spent a lot of hours working at it.  ::)
So, what do you think? Is it worth to get it cast? And would some of you even consider buying it? I know it isn't exactly a fantastic sculpt, but I'm still learning!

I can't speak to people wanting to buy it, but I'd say if you want to cast it, go right ahead!  I cast the first miniature I ever did.  It was horrible, but it was mine, and I wanted to see it in metal :)

That's great and much better than my current attempts. For the eyes try using small ball bearings - gives a perfectly round surface to work around. My problem is always patience.......I hate waiting for putty to dry  >:(

Thanks!

I'll try to remember the small balls for the eyes. As you probably can see, I had a bit of trouble with the eyes. They turned out a bit too flat.
And yes, waiting for it to dry is very annoying... I just sculpted it little by little for several days...  o_o

Black Orc Games' Minisculpt project is for starting/hobby sculptors. The deal is basically that you give them the green (if they accept it), get 20 metal copies of it and they put it on sale for $1 apiece. You get some commission when the mini sells enough.

That's nice - immediately identifiable, too.
Back from the dead, almost.
