Maximus Minimus!!!
« on: 20 September 2012, 09:17:08 PM »
Maximus Minimus came into being when Rich Clarke from Too Fat Lardies came to P'boro' to run us through the mechanics of a game of Dux Britanniarum.

Basically, I had forgotten to bring the paperwork for the characters we rolled for in our first Dux game, so Rich simply suggested we roll some more. Now, I remembered the names of my Warlord, my Champion and one of my heroes, but when it came to naming noble number 2, could I think of what I had originally called him??? No I bloody couldn't...my mind went blanker than the traditional old Blankety-Blank Chequebook (for the UK viewers of a 'certain age' amongst you!) so I simply blurted out 'Maximus' and, promptly rolled 'snake-eyes' for physical attributes, thereby rendering him 'miniscule!!!' Cue uproarious laughter and Rich's suggestion that he should henceforth be named 'Maximus Minimus'!! Naturally, the title stuck!!

For more info about how I chose the model and some character background from our campaign, please visit my blog here: http://guitarheroandy.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/the-decurio-maximus-minimus.html

Here are a couple of pics to whet your appetite: One is Maximus all by himself and the next is of him next to his commander in chief, the Tribune Lord Andrucius.

Enjoy!

"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

... all great lead heroes are usually christened in similar ways.  lol

Lovely painting. His mate, Tribune Lord Andrucius, sure is a giant isn't he.

Lovely work, however you really must get the Minimus Miniatures for your hero ;)

Several folk suggested that model, which is great, but totally wrong period armour so I couldn't bring myself to use it...

@ Furt: Yes, Andrucius is BIG!! He's the Salute 'King Arthur' from a few years back with a head taken from a Gripping Beast Arthurian hero...
