They look really great! I am looking forward to pictures with the foliage. Will You try different colour or shades of green* (on the same tree)?
I use the "Korkenzieher-Weide" (corkscrew meadow??), and cause I do not know the English word for it: it's "
Salix matsudana ('Tortuosa')". They have these twisted branches (on very short distances), as if they WANT to be used on tabletop-games in 28mm. I think some are actually allowed to cut even in these times, so it is a good way to look out for them in the neighbourhood.
And ... speaking of ... Birch seeds are one of the earliest seeds in the year. These little sausages hanging from the white trees in spring, which are making excellent tabletop-sized leafs. Have a look for these too.
