My attempt at trees

Hi there,
I wasn't satisfied with the fake-looking trees that I bought in a model railway shop, so I thought I'd make some trees myself. I went outside to look for small twigs in the garden, I glued them together, painted them a little (but not too much, to keep the natural look), and based them. The only thing that's left is adding the foliage.
Here's what it looks like now:

Good idea. I have done the same and just some very cheap foilage to glue onto the branches.

They look really great! I am looking forward to pictures with the foliage. Will You try different colour or shades of green* (on the same tree)?

I use the "Korkenzieher-Weide" (corkscrew meadow??), and cause I do not know the English word for it: it's "Salix matsudana ('Tortuosa')". They have these twisted branches (on very short distances), as if they WANT to be used on tabletop-games in 28mm. I think some are actually allowed to cut even in these times, so it is a good way to look out for them in the neighbourhood.

And ... speaking of ... Birch seeds are one of the earliest seeds in the year. These little sausages hanging from the white trees in spring, which are making excellent tabletop-sized leafs. Have a look for these too.

  Seriously though, I'm not going to. I don't really think it looks natural.

btw - Salix matsudana ('Tortuosa') is "Dragon's claw willow" in English, but I reckon any of the contorted willows would have suitably twisted branches (my mother in law loves willow trees...)

I must try this, i have numerous trees lacking leaves so i shall be using your idea
