How important are the order/unit cards?
« on: 09 March 2013, 03:02:47 AM »
Hi

I just bought a copy of T&T.  The rules are very nice and I look forward to playing.  After reading the rules I was wondering how integral the order and unit cards are to playing the game?  With the unit cards you are able to determine the order in which your units activate anyway.  It seems to me you could do without the cards and just declare an action for one unit each turn.  Am I mising something?

You reveal the cards simultaneously I believe so your opponent is unaware with whom or what you are going to do.

the unit and order cards are absolutely integral to the game by determining the order of activation and limiting certain activities.
They are actually the essence around which the game revolves

Hi,

thanks for buying the game.

The activation and initiative system makes T&T a bit different from other games.

We try to simulate actions simultaneously and you can only guess what action your opponent has planned. This gives more tactical options and it makes the game exciting.

Keep in mind that you only have to plot your action / order for the topmost unit. You dont have to plot the whole turnpile with actions.
