cheap 1:48 Sherman model this July by Revell-Monogram

I have no idea where to put this as it might be of interest for WW II and Vietnam gamers alike, but it's 2 WW II tanks vs one later tank so I'll put it here.

Yesterday I stumbled across the Info that Revell is going to release a SnipTite Version of a Sherman, a Patton and another (German tigrish looking) tank this July. The kits come pianted with some video game merchandise (don't ask me why). They might turn out to be a cheap alternative to the Tamiya and HobbyBoss and also more tolerant to be handled as game pieces than the more detailed kits.

There is no official anouncement on the Revell Page yet, but when you put "1:48 Quake Sherman" into your favourite search engine, you will be able to see previews and allready find preorder options from some shops.

I think I'll definatelly get myself that Sherman and Patton.
Far less active than I used to...

My local model shop might have old stock of one of these models and if it is the same model then it is not good news, the mould is old and the model is reportedly awful. I have not seen it but I was told this by the retailer himself (whom I trust) after someone else bought one as I had been looking at it but was too wary of it to actually buy one.

Hopefully this is incorrect and it is something new but Revell do seem to have a habit of repopping old moulds that really belong in a museum, not of course that they are the only ones guilty of it.
