I think the old West Wind line (now stocked by Old Glory) had a buffalo pack as well, no idea how they scale up these days though...

Ertl is a good source for cattle in a reasonable quantity. Although the longhorns have gotten hard to find they still product the Angus and Herefords. The Angus are acceptable western cattle although they were typically not found on cattle drives like the Longhorns were. Ertl catle are about 1/64 or S Scale so are going to be a little on the small side, although they look just fine when mounted up on a base. I think you will find anything 1/48 scale cattle to be overly large.
