The Beast, post apocalyptic machine.
« on: 26 August 2013, 10:20:50 PM »
Hey guys, this past weekend I bought a toy digger in a low cost store, my intention is to use it with some post apocalyptic thematic rules with Ground Zero Games miniatures in 15mm.
The painting process was very simple, the figure was black spray primed and painted with a piece of sponge blister  with brown and boltgun metal. Then you brush touches to various shades of brown and finally I apply inks and pigments for simule corrosion over time.
The figure is from Ground Zero Games so you can see the scale.
A greeting!

How do I phrase this to really elicit my feelings...?

Ah, yes:

That is utterly bad ass. Well done!

Lovely. Is that freehand on the coca-cola sign? If it is it's bad ass.  :D

That's a great looking piece of heavy machinery.
Killdozer... Who was the star of that movie?

Mason, LAF Legend, has pointed out some stuff called Modelmates Rust Effect.

It's not available in the USA, so I ordered some from Oz 2 months or so ago, and I just got it 2 weeks ago. I tried it on an old wreck and it's AMAZING. So much easier than painting rust. Definitely try it out.

I used it last night on a car axle and wheel in the hands of a mutant ape....it is astonishingly good.
