Confused about points
« on: 29 September 2013, 06:26:34 PM »
Craig etal.,

I'm trying my hand at creating a company for IHMN,  in this case, it is the "Purgatory Vigilance Committee".  I am confused though by point costs.  Unless I am misunderstanding something, it looks backwards!  It seems like the higher the plus advantage, the lower the cost??  For reference, I am looking at section 8.1

                                                                                  Nick

I'm guessing you're looking at the first chart which is point costs for Pluck. The lower your Pluck, the better, since you have to roll your Pluck or higher on a D10 to succeed. Below that is the chart for Fight and Shoot value costs. Fight and Shoot values are added to the die roll so the higher the stat value the better it is.

Hope that helps.

Ah okay, so it isn't really a plus score, it is an actual score.  That makes sense then.

Exactly.

"4+" essentially means "four and up passes."

Okay, the fog is lifting, slowly.  So for shooting and melee you add the number to the die roll and try to beat the armor value, correct?
