Hurrah, my copy finally arrived, I eagerly tear open to packaging ("Amazon" emblazoned all over it") and leer at the glorious front cover art. My fingers reverently open the first page to gaze at the content within and......
....am rather disappointed to discover that the pages appear to be laser printed on copier paper? Now I am aware that this splendid publication is without images and also in black and white, not an issue as it leaves so much more room for literary content (and the members of this illustrious forum maintain excellent blogs with the requisite eye candy) however I would expect that the pages of said publication would be in line with other works from this rather experienced publisher.
And so my questions are thus:
Am I incorrect in assuming that the pages of HVF would be glossy in nature?
Does anyone else have a copy with matt pages?
Hopefully this does not come across as negative as the cost of HVF vs the content is excellent, the decision by Osprey to commission more content from Messrs Cartmell and Murton laudable and if the price of this is to keep costs down then I shall of course be grateful to all involved.
Pip pip!
