Krampus Arrives!
« on: December 05, 2013, 04:36:37 PM »
It's December 5th - Krampusnacht!  The old beast walks abroad this night, on the hunt for naughty children to snatch up and spirit away in his basket, and we have a model set to let you bring the joys of child hunting to your tabletop, including terrified juvenile victims!  This is a seasonal special: Krampus will only stick around until the dawn of the new year, so snatch yours today...

We have a wealth of goodies available for using Krampus in your games of Strange Aeons and Von Unaussprechlichen Kulten (also available in a handy archive, to save you a few clicks):
  • Krampus Profile - This daemon may be used in scenarios that specify his presence, or summoned (and bound, if you like) in regular games of Strange Aeons or Kulten played during his active season.
  • Child Profile - Children pop up in inopportune places, especially around the holidays.  This generic Child profile supersedes the one previously released, and is required for all games that include Krampus.
  • SA Scenario: Christmas With Krampus - Your Threshold agent is home for the holidays and trying to kick back with a cup of eggnog when Krampus arrives to crash the party!
  • VUK Scenario: Orphan Pie! - What better holiday gift for the loyal cultist than a hot slice of orphan pie?  Trouble is, you're going to need to catch an orphan first, and that weird Krampus guy is after them too...

A revised version of our 2011 holiday scenario, Nightmare on 34th Street, updated to reflect the new Child profile, is also available.

As an added bonus, today also marks the release of our recently previewed Hybrids set, which we've opted to move up a few months thanks to popular demand.  Check out this gorgeous set, which makes our staff efforts look pretty pedestrian.

lol Very nice. I saw this article on ABC News yesterday:
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-12-05/meet-the-krampus-st-nick27s-creepy-offsider/5134842

...and wondered (like a few wargamers I suspect) if anyone makes a Krampus miniature.

My question was quickly answered by the gods.

Ordered!
I think it will be a perfect match for this classical painting that everyone has a copy of back home (well, not all, but it's pretty common, good ol' eighties painting)

Edit: There's actually a story behind these paintings. Curses, and all! Damn fine scenario idea I got now...

They're under the avatar of Lidless Eye if you press the globe symbol. But you'll find theme here.

There actually is a link right at the end of the first paragraph.  Sometimes I find code that masks the default link underline is actually a bit annoying for this very reason.

Friday coming is payday so I'll be ordering both of these (and some fishmen too I suppose.) While I'll pick up Krampus for the fun of it (and that he's a limited figure it's probably a good idea) I'm really, REALLY impressed by the hybrids. While admittedly some of the earlier SA sculpts are a little "rough around the edges", so to speak, they've always had the own unique style but with each new batch one can follow the progression of the sculptors skill level and I hjave to say the hybrids are some of the nicest work I've seen from her to this date. Hope to see much more of her work in the coming future and even if it didn't improve a bit from this point I'll still happily be picking them up. Thanks guys and gals.
We haul ours to kick theirs.

I love both packs, the hybrids are sweet, maybe I can order some in the next few months. Most of our cash just got eaten up with my wife's mother's funeral, we went in debt 3k to help pay expenses.....wow, what a crappy holiday for my wife and I.....
