He looks a bit young compared to most illustrations of him, but I'll hazard a guess (seeing I can't read ther text - too small in the pic) - Konstantin Tsiolkovsky?

Man, those Soviets could build monuments. Why don't we have cool monuments like that here? We seem to have gone straight from Classical to Utterly Abstract, and skipped the cool Political Realism phase. Not even the Art Moderne stuck around long enough to do more than a few griffons in front of libraries, or Atlases holding up things in the lobby of some New York skyscrapers. I want Alan Shepard gazing off into the future, or Harry Truman with his sleeves rolled up and fists the size of his head, or a JFK who looks like a hood ornament for a very fast sports car.

Whenever I see a picture of that Lenin statue I always imagine him singing "You're s**t, and you know you are!" at the top of his voice. lol

Prof,

what you should have done was to put your camera on a tripod, set the shutter delay timer thingy and then scamper up the statue to stand next to Lenin to give us an idea of scale .....  lol

I'm guessing at least 54mm to our usual 28mm  ???

But are there any Whites, you'd need them for an interesting scenario. :D
