They are essentially video tape cases.

The only difference is the depth.

The foam included is pretty thin. Its more like the kind of foam you get as a topper in cases than eggshell foam or anything thick.
Edit: those cases look different actually. They seem to have better foam than they once had or that comes with the boxed releases.

The foam isn't super thick, but i've walked 5 miles with an army full of these things in a loose swinging bag and not had a single model damaged. certainly for the cost they're the best cases i've ever used, and much easier than lugging around a custom mini case which was never designed for long journeys.(also, no strange looks when you get on the tube with an Aquila embossed suitcase.)
never trust a horse, they make a commitment to shoes that no animal should make.

Personally I think getting some off cuts of foam and cutting them to size would be a great way to make them a lot better. Would certainly work out cheaper than any other manufacturers. Even if they would be lacking individual custom cut outs.

I don't know that the cases have a lot of additional space for thicker foam.

How many 28mm figures do those mantic cases hold as I can't see any dimensions on them.

I'v managed to fit 20 corporation marines in a small case, and you could fit double so in a large one.
For small vehicles and big cavalry/support weapons, the large cases should be perfect for 2 or 3 units.

I have seen a few pictures of each case holding 15 gw marines with room for the odd character.
