That's a wonderful blog but it seemed to mostly be Naopleonics and WWI. Didn't see any of the worker folk from the picture above.

Sorry, I know I am a little late to the thread but damn work got in the way.  Simply stunning.  I did have a question about your water.  At first I thought you had a blue cloth underneath a plastic sheet, but on more careful inspection it looks like either the plastic is colored or you painted the underside.  Can you share how you achieved your water effect?

The water effect is created by using a blue plastic waterproofing membrane available from builder’s merchants. The sheet used is a 4m x 5 m and 250 micron gauge blue one.
