1/48th scale if your minis are 28mm  ;)

Paint the biscuit bomber in civil markings.

why so large planes? You must be aware that they are mobile scenery at best?

I don't know about others...but we make some of our large planes with "lift off lids" and play in them......punch ups whilst rolling over the seats....getting knocked out of the door. Treat them no different to a ship in a game and have some fun.

I like that idea! Consider it stolen emulated!

I am surprised that no one has mentioned/thought of it before....when I made the first like this is just seemed...natural.

I must add that it does make the scale model guys have heart failure when they see what we have done to these big kits!!!  But that too is part of the fun ;D

Hm. Those planes ARE enormous on a tabletop (especially one as small as 3x3), but fighting inside them would definitely work.

I wonder how wide the fuselage is on a 1/48 Ju 52?

Not to big I guess but not sure if it's 1/48ème...

That is a roughly 1/72 model, actually, and of a fairly smaller plane (Ford Trimotor).

My own "holy grail" for pulp planes is a 1:56 Ford or Fokker Trimotor. The raised wings means you don't lose the table space and characters don't have to walk all the way around the plane OR stand on the wing (a bit goofy, unless there's maybe a fight on).

But opening up the interior would makes that even more playable!

One could always scratch build a mock up of the inside of the plane and transfer any punch ups to it.  ;)

Below, a blast from the past... ;)
