Suit me up, Bucky! The Captain America Ma.K
« on: 31 August 2008, 12:20:23 PM »
So I went and did a Cap and Bucky version of the Ma.K's. Bases still need to be finished, but the figures are basically done. I went for a slightly darker/dirtier shade of the old red-white-and-blue as I thought it was more suitable for the battlefields of Weird War II. I also kept the off-white line markings to tie them in with the regular joes. Not quite how I imagined it in my mind, but it'll do.

Cap and Bucky, the Ma.K version:

And with a couple regular joes... ;D

The worn and dirty look was definitely the right way to go with these.  Very cool.  :)

What about a shield? Should Cap have one in Weird War II?

I was thinking that - maybe in the belt buckle area....

But even without it, its a great looking fig. Nicely done.

I had a suitable shield and was looking for a way to incorporate it, even strapped to the arm with the hand, but it just looked stuck on as an afterthought, so I left it off in the end.

And yes, WWII cap should have a shield (though in some versions it's not round). But no worries, he'll have one when I paint my dismounted versions of the characters.

Love it!!! :-*

That Cap conversion is excellent!!! I agree about the choice of colour, not too "in your face" looking.
