So, in my infinite insanity, I have taken up the task of teaching my wife to play Pulp Alley, so that we have something besides Scrabble and Mancala to play against each other...
I threw together 2 small leagues from my recently painted Grymn and from my oh dear god did I really paint these in '96-'98 Tyranids. We decided to give the first installment of Perilous Island, Hidalgo Fire, a try. The Grymn had a leader, a sidekick, and 2 allies, while the Tyran menace had a leader, sidekick, and 4 followers.
The board: yes, the shot is all fuzzy, sorry.
In the center was Dr. Elaine.
The leagues were placed...
As her leader headed for the lady doctor, mine headed for the ancient artifact.
Her leader rather handily passes the peril and the challlenge for Lady Elaine, as one of my followers heads in to cut off the robotic maid.
Another of my followers beats her ally to the luggage full of Rad-Away, but cannot beat the challenge. Makes all of his health checks though!
My sidekick gets to her robo-maid, but is fended off with an electric zap.
A pair of followers lunge into combat with her leader, to be stomped like, well, bugs.
Her leader bolts for safety as mine shoots at him.
The grymn are trying to take the luggage!
And the firebombs hidden throughout go off!
And my sidekick finally gets the robot to stop running away...
The bombs takes out my followers, leaving the little soldier open to taking the luggage.
But one of the Grymn falls to the bombs as well.
My daring Genestealer sidekick lunges through the firebomb (yay free pass card for perils!) and takes down her sidekick for control of the tent spoils!
As our leaders shoot it out!
At the end, my Tyranid warrior took the luggage from her soldier, and my 'stealer won the fight for the tent spoils, leaving my wife with just control of the redoubtable LAdy Elaine, and I had everything else. Now, she wants to create a real league, and we will start a real campaign.
Woot!
