My first 10mm French figure
« on: February 22, 2015, 07:44:13 AM »

First figure for my 10mm range arrived yesterday morning, got big plans for this, its been a favourite scale for me for years, I had several armies back in the day when I had armies, if that makes sense. Anyway here is the first guy a Frenchman of the line, I have stood him next to a pendraken Austrian figure so you can get the size comparison, lots more to come obviously, but its got to start somewhere. Any thoughts are welcome.

PS that is the green master, they will be cast in metal.

He looks great! Are you planning a new line, starting with the early period?

Cheers,

Christopher

Dead right, starting with the French, my guy is sculpting up the basic line figures at the moment, once they are done it will be the light infantry and some dragoons. I don't want to rush these guys but its tempting to push him into doing the Russians at the same time, but must resist, one army at a time, but I keep looking at the nice pictures of the Russian Chasseurs, and then of course the Austrian Uhlans, the list is huge.

That's very welcome news - I think I've been waiting for over a decade for someone to produce decent early Napoleonic figures in 10mm. I had decided to go with Adler, but I'll definitely wait and see how things go with your line. Since you're doing French in bicornes, are you aiming at the early Empire or the 1790's?

Cheers,

Christopher

A very nice start, I'm in to the Russian campaign of 1812 so I will look forward to your take on them. Ni do like that you are making them compatible with pendraken, for me that's very important as he is my main suplier

Keep up the good work and please keep us posted

Empire, the glory years. As its my favourite, which always helps with motivation, I will be adding them to my website as they arrive, not once I have a complete unit, so line inf should be a couple of weeks, then the command couple of weeks later, but I will be keeping forums up to date.

Got the mould made this morning and that's the command pack and the basic line infantry done, voltigeurs and grenadiers needed next
Sorry the pictures not very good, but camera struggles to focus.

The dragoon is going back for a tweek.

Grenadiers and voltigeurs marching have been added to the range now, sticking with campaign dress at the moment, bearskins will be coming soon, and voltigeurs forward skirmishing, then its onto the light infantry with shakos, and the dragoons.
Keeping figures in small packs so its easier to make up the units for whatever rules you use, also do a Battalion pack for General De Brigade, because that's the rules I prefer, (other rules are available).

If I were to start again I'd probably commit to 10mm. As it is, I am a pretty firmly committed 15mm guy but who knows.
