What are our French members using to send minis?
« on: May 15, 2015, 05:39:55 PM »
I was looking at buying a single mini from France, but it seems like the cheapest international parcel price from France I can find on La Poste's website is now fully 25 Euro?! This is possibly the worst postal rate for parcels I've seen anywhere.

I guess you can send things as a letter because the La Poste width limit for letters is 3cm, which is comparatively generous, but the seller doesn't seem to know how to repackage the figure (it comes in a fairly oversized box - I've asked him if he would just repackage it) and so won't.

Yet I see ebay sellers in France with Matchbox cars or other similar toy cars who are charging roughly between 9 EUR and 13 EUR for shipping and these are obviously much larger or heavier than a miniature. They typically list shipping as being by "Colis Internationale Economique", so I'm not sure what service they are using?

I've recently had parcels from France sent via Colissimo that were reasonably priced.

Seems like Canada gets vastly higher charges than the EU though Colissimo as well - very comparable to La Poste (within a euro or so).

frenchfever just sent me a package from France to Belgium through Mondial Relay for an astounding €4,5.
I had to walk a full 3 mins to a shop pick it up once it arrived there  :D
Big thumbs up for that service !
