Uniform "Suits"
« on: 14 October 2008, 07:35:59 PM »
I'm actually sticking these on eBay but hope you won't mind if I stick them on here too to get your comments about the colour scheme. Does it work?

They are inspired by similar figures I saw on a forum somewhere where a guy had painted them in black shirts and shoes and everything else in white. I fancied a little bit more colour. Hence the red ties and sand-coloured suits (I have to admit to having a suit of a similar colour in my youth). I also added a few female suits too.

I don't know whether to be a good example or a horrible warning.

Yes.

Yes, it does work.

Reminds me of the band The Hives. Very cool.  8)

I like 'em.  Nice to see suits in colours OTHER than the basic black!

Very nice, I like the recoilless rifle conversion :)

I have to agree with the rest, they look very cool.

I made a similar dodgy suit choice when I was younger, but mine was silver-grey  :(

Thanks, but credit where credit's due. I got the inspiration from Pil. I'm sure that he was the guy that did the white suit "uniform"

Thanks, I was really pleased with the conversion too. He's actually the same figure as the guy behind him and two to his right but the change in weapon seems to change him completely.

They work for me :) It is indeed nice to see suits of a different colour!

Thank you, though I just realised I never posted those pictures here (as far as I know) so you probably saw them on another forum (which I'm pretty sure would have been GWhobby.net). I don't post pictures of miniatures I've submitted to the Combat Zone Chronicles until they're published, it seems the right thing to do.

I really like the size of your collection BTW, I only have 5 of them painted ;)

Not my era, but I like them very much.
Well done!

My archetype for the "Uniform suits" was that they usually wore black/dark grey suits. A nice addition!

Sorry I should have said "copy THE idea " as I did read your intro  ::)
I thought a Ska theme might work but then I would have to green stuff some hats I suppose.
And then I found this picture.

A Japanese Ska band?! That has all the potential for Wrong in the world.  :o

And is that guy at the bottom right with the shades and saxophone "Beat" Takeshi? Uncanny resemblance.

Now I like that idea! Madness-style, though, rather than Japanese, me thinks.

It works very well - some high-profile companies have a strict dress-code, so why not this kind of company?  ;)
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
