Falkirk and District Wargames Club are taking part in the Waterloo exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh on Saturday 18th July between 11 am and 4pm.

There will be 3 active display games each illustrating pivotal moments from the battle including D'Erlon's Charge against the Allied position at Mont St Jean, the Charge of the massed French cavalry against the Allied squares and the Prussian attack on Plancenoit which finally turned the French position. Club members will be available to explain what is happening and as the day moves on to recreate the key moments in each fight. If members of the public want to roll some dice or move some figures we will be able to accommodate that. The rules will be General de Brigade.

We will also mount a static display of the attack on Hougomont as well as running the "Capture the Eagle" participation game where the public will have the chance to control some Scots Greys and Gordon Highlanders in attacking the French and attempt to capture Ewart's Eagle themselves.

There are of course loads of other things to see and do at the museum so it should be a good family day out. The participation game is designed to be children friendly.
