And a selection of hired guns . . . under uncomfortably close surveillance from the Enforcers of local Precinct 972.

Nice- amazing what a little head rotation can do to add some variety to those monopose figures!
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Wow love em!
Be mindful of the prayers you send
Pray hard but pray with care
For the tears that you are crying now
Are just your answered prayers

Some great inspiration in this thread. I have fond memories of this game and owned the lotbefore flogging it in the late 90's.
I have decided to switch some projects out of my life that I have no terrain for and replace it with Necromunda. I've managed to get hold of Orlock (1st/2nd versions) Goliaths (1st/2nd Versions) and Escher so far. One Scummer to. I think this will be a collection as well something I will game with so will be looking to try and pick up one of each of the classics. If I manage to get some special ones so be it!

If all goes well I'll have Delaque, Van Saar and Spyrers soon as well.

Well here is a Ratskin ~(badly stored over my Beer and Girls Decade) now all shiny and chrome for a new paint job.

I hope I'm not too late in jumping in here.  Necromunda was one of my favourite games, and I played it dozens of times over the years, having many many great games.  I had one problem with the background however, I didn't like the idea of designing "gangs" that only wore approved uniforms.  So when I designed my gang I mixed and matched figures to get the look I liked.  It was basically an Orlock gang (with the loincloths removed) but also included Eshers, a Delaque, a Goliath, and even a modified Catechan.  This variety, lack of approval, and some figures from competing ranges - the gang leader is from the warzone range - meant the gang just had to be an outlaw gang.

This is just a sampling of the total membership.  I bet you can guess what I named them.

Some more lovely miniatures on show.  I've actually just picked up the hardback rule book and a gang myself (from Heresy Miniatures) due in large part to this thread, won't be able to paint them up for a couple of months but that will give me time to save up for the original boxed game :)

Wow! Great thread. To repeat those that have come before me: fond nostalgia of this game and great to see so many others in the same mind.

In sheep-like fashion, I was inspired by this thread to pay my small tribute to Necromunda and the fun I had with it back in the 90s. I've a full post here on my blog but here are a few pics of the two main gangs I played with;

The Delaque High School Sixth Form English Literature Outing; from left to right, back to front – Hardy, Dryden, Donne, Blake, Wilde, Marlow, Shelley, Dante (Heavy), Auden, Milton, Byron (Leader), Keats, Burns (Heavy, Flamer of course!) and Elliot.

The Esher Eclectic Cocktail Party; from left to right, back to front – Moonshine (Heavy), Shandy (Juve of course), Smirnoff, Jacky Daniels, Mad Muscat, Tequila, Racy Retsina, Krazy Kirsch, Rum Punch, Gin Sling, Red Rum and Bloody Mary (Leader).

If there's anyone out there from the SESWC that played in the same campaign (1996-98?) I'd love to see pics of my old adversaries!!!

For those that want them, more close ups on my blog post (this is my first proper post to LAF so I wasn't about to bombard with pics in case that was not done).

Some really inspiring stuff in this thread!  Like many I'm sure, I've got my own collection of unpainted or half painted Necromunda figures squirreled away.  Maybe I shul pull some out and get painting?

For me at least the launch of Frostgrave as rekindled Mordheim-like activities. Have I missed something new that can do the same for Necromunda?

Not sure about anything sci-fi for that Necromunda feel, but Empire Of The Dead is a Steampunky skirmish game that's a lot like it!

I've tried a few things, but nothing comes close to Necromunda.
-Nuclear Renaissance has a similar feel, but doesn't have as robust a campaign mechanic.
-In the Emperor's name is a nice rules-lite game with rules for necromunda gangs.  The campaign mechanic is better than NucRen, but overall the rules don't have enough crunch to replicate the almost RPG'ish nature of Necro.
-I've been reading over "Ghosts of Heife" the "not-bladerunner" gang combat game using the goalsystem mechanics.  It looks promising, and has advancement and nice scenarios, but predictably feels more cyberpunk than grimdark.
-Ganesha/Osprey has a warband sci-fi ruleset coming called "Rogue Stars" that I'm really looking forward to.  Based on my previous Ganesha experience (Song of Blades, etc) I think I'll likely enjoy the rules, but I doubt it will be a full Necromunda replacement.

In the end, I've found the "Necromunda Community Edition" rules from yaktribe to be exactly what I was looking for.  It's a very deliberate community based update of the "Living Rulebook" edition that was the Last GW version.  It's not a major revision, but lots of rules are tightened up, vague areas clarified and scenarios, factions and weapons/gear balanced.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Yes, the Ganesha offering might be something. I too like the SOBH approach especially with the Advanced rules now. There others I've looked at but didn't excite.

Ghosts of Heife? That I've heard of before. That and the Department sounded pretty fun but neither are available as far as I can tell. I think I sent an email to one of the developers a while back and got nothing back.

Anyone the wiser? (I was particularly keen on the 15mm miniatures - big fan of PF sculpts).

Oh, found a couple of lurkers hiding out in the dark recesses of a rather dusty box.

No pics now, but I'm converting a few Alpha Forge figs and modding a couple of GW figs to fill out an Orlock gang that a buddy is going to paint for me. I'll post a pic of the pre-painted modded and converted figs before I send them for painting.

AFAIK, the Ghosts of Heife kickstarter only finished fulfiling last month.  Maybe another message to 4 color figures?
