First Game of Chain of Command AAR
« on: October 23, 2015, 04:37:22 PM »
Hi!

Who'd have thought I'd game WW2? Not me! But nice chums and excellent rules convinced me to give it a try, and I really liked it. I'm even hooked to start another project myself…

Very nice. thanks for sharing. It's good to see a primarily infantry based desert game. Like your blog also.

Chain of Command is WW II gaming goodness aplenty.  Nice write-up and blog!  Thanks for sharing.

It's a very very nice game, and you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer chap than Richard from Lard Island....

Clarkie?  He's a horrible bloke!   :D

Lovely looking game.  I'm just setting up a desert game for tomorrow here on Lard Island and this will inspire me.

Cheers guys! I'm just back from CRISIS, where I bought a whole lot of 8th army guys from Peter Pig to convert to French Foreign Legion - seems the Chain of Command bug has bitten me for good!

However, I greatly missed the Lardies at the show - their games always were a high point for me.  :(

Shandy

I am really sorry we couldn't make it over this year, Crisis is always the highlight of my year (and I mean the whole year, not just the wargaming bit of it).  However domestic issues meant that I had to be here in the UK.  I promise we'll be back next year.

The good news is that Murphy's Heroes ran a really nice game of Chain of Command set in Holland in 1940.  They won the Best Participation Game trophy, so I was really pleased that Chain of Command has won that title for three years on the trot.   They'll be running the game at Tactica in Hamburg next spring too.

I'm sorry you couldn't make it and hope your issues are resolved soon. We plan to be at Antwerp again next year, so I'm already looking forward to having a game (perhaps of Sharp Practice 2 - I'd really love to see this one  ;D )

Murphy's Heroes' table was splendid and very inspiring! I'm already thinking about building an airfield for the desert CoC games… And Tactica is a great show, I've been there two years ago, very friendly atmosphere and impressive games.

Cheers
Shandy
